Het traject in vijf fases 
Na inschrijving start je met een pitch in december. Word je eind december geselecteerd, dan doorloop je vijf fases: de onderzoeksfase (januari), de schrijf/uitwerkfase (februari), de verdiepende fase (maart), de maak-en try-outfase (maart-mei) en uitvoerende fase (mei).  

Een groot deel van het traject is het praktisch maken van je voorstelling door middel van repetities. Daarnaast besteed je tijdens het traject tijd aan het voorbereiden hiervan; denk aan repetities plannen, een projectplan maken, een begroting opstellen, samenwerken met een technische crew en inhoudelijk sparren met je coach. Ook zal je verschillende workshops bijwonen die je zullen helpen in de voorbereiding, uitvoering of vervolg van je voorstelling. Bijvoorbeeld een presentatie training/professioneel pitchen, een ervaren maker komt vertellen en sparren over het proces van het maken van een voorstelling of iemand die bij een fonds werkt komt vertellen over subsidies aanvragen. Zo bereid je niet alleen je productie voor, maar ook je toekomst als maker. Houd rekening met een workload van ongeveer een dag per week + je repetities.

Hoe ziet de selectieprocedure eruit?

1. Inschrijven doe je met persoonlijke informatie, motivatie, een beschrijving/plan van je idee en een budgetinschatting. 
2. Op basis van deze informatie volgt een selectieprocedure en kan je worden uitgenodigd om te komen pitchen in december. 
3. De pitch in december zal ongeveer 5 minuten duren, na afloop is er ruimte voor vragen; zowel vanuit jou als vanuit DOX.
4. Na de pitch ontvang je een e-mail of je bent geselecteerd om dit seizoen een productie te ontwikkelen bij DOX Club Lab.

Er zijn drie tot vier makers plekken, dus grijp je kans en laat je inspirerende idee werkelijkheid worden. Of je nu solo bent of met een team werkt: schrijf je in en ontdek de kunst van het creëren met DOX als jouw gids. 

Kan ik mij ook opgeven met iemand anders? 
Dat kan! Meld je eenvoudig aan met een team: 

1. Laat één van jullie het aanmeldformulier invullen als contactpersoon voor de selectieprocedure. 
2. Geef in jullie plan aan dat jullie als team werken en stel jezelf kort voor. 
3. Deel in jullie plan ook hoe jullie de samenwerking voor je zien, inclusief een eventuele taakverdeling.

DOX Club Lab Creators Wanted

Are you a passionate creator looking to develop your artistic skills? At Club Lab, you’ll work towards a unique 8-10 minute performance, which you’ll present in a theater in Utrecht in May! Whether you take the stage yourself or focus on the role of choreographer, director, or creator, DOX supports you on both a productional and artistic level. Here is an insight into the creations of Muk, Mels, Savannah and Sasha last year. You can register until November 17, 2024, via the registration form below. 

The Five Phases of the Program 
After registration, you’ll begin with a pitch in December. If you’re selected by the end of December, you’ll go through five phases: the research phase (January), the writing/development phase (February), the in-depth phase (March), the creation and try-out phase (March-May), and the performance phase (May).

A significant part of the program involves practically developing your performance through rehearsals. You’ll also spend time preparing by planning rehearsals, creating a project plan, setting a budget, collaborating with a technical team, and creatively sparring with your coach. Additionally, you’ll attend several workshops designed to help with the preparation, execution, and continuation of your work, such as presentation training/professional pitching, advice from an experienced creator on the process of developing a performance, or insights from a funding expert on applying for grants. This way, you’re not only building your production but also your future as a creator. Consider a workload of about a day a week + your rehearsals.

What Does the Selection Process Look Like? 
Registration requires personal information, motivation, a description/plan of your idea, and a budget estimate. Based on this information, a selection process takes place, and you may be invited to pitch your idea in December. The pitch will last about 5 minutes, followed by time for questions from both you and DOX.

After the pitch, you’ll receive an email confirming whether you’ve been selected to develop a production with DOX Club Lab this season. There are three to four spots for creators—so seize this opportunity and bring your inspiring idea to life. Can I Apply with Someone Else? 
Yes! Easily apply as a team: 

1. Have one team member complete the registration form as the contact person for the selection process. 
2. In your plan, indicate that you’re working as a team and briefly introduce yourselves. 
3. Include a vision for your collaboration in your plan, with a potential division of tasks.
