Daring, creative, and open-minded, these are the three words that best describe Miguel. Originally from Spain, he started his music studies at the age of seven, which he followed for ten years, graduating as a professional violinist. He left his home country at the age of 18 to follow the BA Linguistics at the UvA. What began as an academic journey soon unfolded into something much larger: a personal and creative exploration. While studying, Miguel joined dance and theatre classes in different dance studios, marking his first steps into the world of performance arts. This discovery lighted the spark of a new path.

Miguel’s main interests are humanity, dialogue, identity, and queerness. He sees his own body as a means to explore all of these themes through music, dance and performance.

Currently, he partakes in the NDC-DOX Club, exploring themes of migration and change, and collaborating with refugees to jointly create a piece. He continues to develop his creative trajectory with this project, aspiring to make the most out of this experience.

A tip from Miguel: listen to each other, there’s something beautiful waiting on the other side.
