Lilla Jarocińska

Lilla Jarocińska, creating under the artist name 𝕸𝖔𝖙𝖍, is a Polish-Russian audiovisual performance artist who crafts ritual performances through a blend of pole dance, looping vocals and film. They are a part time pole dance instructor and are currently pursuing a part time music study at HKU.

They graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Arts with an audiovisual pole performance centered on the metamorphosis of neuroqueer bodies and identities. Being a neuroqueer creature, they are deeply attuned to the sensorial textural realm. Central to their practice is finding pleasure in movement, getting into flowstate and letting their musicality take over. With a background in classical music and a passion for dark atmospheric music, gothic rock and doom metal, they use sound as a source for their movement.

At DOX, they are excited to work for the first time in such a large performance group and they hope to develop their skills further when it comes to movement and performing. Working with the themes of resistance and vulnerability in Club Daar Waar Wolken Samenkomen heavily resonates with their alter egos. They love to dive deeper into this exploration and discover in which ways their own practice bleeds into DOX and vice versa.
