Fleur De Decker
Fleur De Decker is a dancer and maker based between Belgium and the Netherlands. A graduate of Fontys Academy of the Arts (Dance Arts in Context), she creates from a deep, genuine urge to connect, to explore, to peel back layers, and to give something meaningful in return.
For Fleur, dance is a way of engaging with the world a way to spark real emotion and create space for people from all walks of life to feel seen, heard, and touched.
From an early age, art became her way of navigating life. It helped her connect with her inner world and opened an ongoing, lively conversation with the people, places, and moments around her. It’s always been and continues to be a practice rooted in self-discovery and duality.
Through performance and movement, Fleur hopes to create spaces where reflection, connection, and transformation can naturally unfold. Her work draws inspiration from themes like identity, human experience, social justice, animal rights, and the inner world often sparked by personal stories and used to explore bigger, shared questions.
She’s especially interested in creating interdisciplinary, emotionally resonant work that reflects her belief in the power of coexistence between people, species, and perspectives.
At heart, Fleur sees herself not just as a maker, but as someone who lets dance evolve through her. Her creative practice is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and a strong belief in art’s ability to inspire change both personal and collective.
